National Children’s Day takes place on the second Saturday of every January. Therefore, it is in a nice position after Christmas and New Year. On this special weekend, families across Thailand will take their kids to special events and days out, exploring educational exhibits, going to the malls meet and greets, as well shopping for children's goods via promotions and rewards.

Thailand Knowledge Park, CentralWorld
CentralWorld’s famous complex is one of the most-visited malls in the city of Bangkok. It hosts the Thailand Knowledge Park, a ‘living library’ since 2005, where visitors have been able to come to read, learn and actively immerse themselves in all kinds of knowledgeable pursuits. It’s a great place to take the kids!
TK Park, as it’s known, hosts events on National Children’s Day to encourage inspiring younger people to learn more about the world. While the events they host change year after year, they always seem to get bigger and bolder. If you’re in Chidlom and are looking for something exciting to do with the kids in January, TK Park is a great place to start.
In January 2020, TK Park unveiled TK Dino. Dinosaurs have been a kids favourite for decades, and TK Park welcomes families to a special series of prehistoric exhibits. Children below a certain height get to enter for free.
However, it’s well worth exploring the rest of TK Park, as well as CentralWorld, for more fun and activities. Bangkok’s various family attractions are already popular year-round, however, in early January, things really start to take on an extra special shape.

Of course, if you are out and about in the area, the fun doesn’t stop at CentralWorld. You’ll find that there is plenty more for you to get your teeth into. What’s more, the area is brimming with attractions and sights which should appeal to young people and families in general. Once you’ve taken a look at TK Park and have taken the kids for a spin on the ice rink in CentralWorld, it’s time to get out and explore.
The area is well-known for its vast shopping experiences. Where in Bangkok isn’t? What’s more, however, any families fascinated by history and culture will love taking in the various temples and shrines nearby – Erawan is the most famous. When you arrive, do be sure to head to tourist information. There is plenty for you to pack into a single day, meaning you’ll probably want to make a weekend of it!
Children’s Day helps to make some of Bangkok’s districts come alive. The city is already bustling and vibrant to a fascinating degree! However, bringing everyone together to celebrate young people really gets the inspiration flowing.
