Celebrate Songkran Festival in Pattaya

There are all sorts of incredible reasons to visit Thailand. There are those that might consider investing in the country, or courting investors that live there. There are many others that may have fallen in love with Thai cuisine, and want to learn more about authentic Thai cuisine. There are individuals that travel to the country for all sorts of reasons - whether romantic, educational, entrepreneurial, and more.

One of the best times is to visit Thailand is during Songkran, because Pattaya truly does come alive at this time. It makes sense, considering that Songkran is literally derived from the Sanskrit word for “movement”. It is meant to celebrate the strong relationship between families, but is also considered a holiday that celebrates hospitality in general, which is why it can often be a positive experience for tourists in general. One of the most interesting and unique ways to celebrate Songkran is to celebrate at Pattaya Beach.

Walking Street

Walking Street does get lively during Songkran, but enter at your own risk: you can certainly expect the water to be flying. After all, water is part of Songkran Festival, so if this is something that you might want to participate in, remember that Walking Street isn’t so family-friendly during the night. However, for a water celebrating during the day, Walking Street at Songkran can be a great time, and the kind of vibrant once-in-a-lifetime Thailand experience you remember for years to come.

Wan Lai

While international tourists might be concerned with having a good time, keep in mind that there are many in Thailand that believe that this is the time of the year for merit-making activities and to pay homage to their ancestors. No matter what your stance is, the “Wan Lai” festival allows for Songkran to extend past the traditional days to April 19th. As mentioned before, Wan Lai also features some incredible additional festivities, including sand sculptures, beauty contests, sea-boxing, and more, all near Pattaya Beach.

Tiffany’s Cabaret

It’s hard to deny the incredible appeal of Tiffany’s Cabaret. For those who might not be open-minded, it’s important to note that while this is a huge tourist attraction, it does feature transvestites. The performers don some of the most incredible clothing imaginable, from ball gown dresses to headdresses, and much more. For those who are fans of Asian culture in general - there is a lot of appeal here: as homage is paid to India’s Bollywood scene, Korea fan dance culture, and Chinese history, as well.

For those staying at Centre Point Pattaya, you can participate in Songkran by sprinkling water on a Buddha image, as well complimentary Thai Pop Ice Cream and Popcorn, and we hope the new year brings you new levels of prosperity!
