The Sanctuary Of Truth is not centuries old, but is only a few decades old, and sits next to the sea for an incredible experience. The wooden construction was erected thanks to eccentric Thai businessman Lek Viriyaphan, who also built the museum park Ancient Siam.
The entire structure is made out of wood, and while this is impressive in itself; the structure also houses many Hindu and Buddhist sculptures, celebrating two religions that are quite popular in Thailand. The sculptures were created from ancient hand-carving traditions, as well, and visitors from all across the world come to see the craftsmanship behind them. In fact, the Sanctuary of Truth features figures from Cambodia, China, India, and Thailand, and the concept behind the structure is that all roads lead to “one Truth”.
One of the incredible aspects of the Sanctuary Of Truth is that it is not closed to one religion, but welcomes all who wish to “seek the truth” of any kind. In this manner, it is much more tolerant than many other historic religious sites. The philosophy behind the Sanctuary of Truth is to promote peace and tolerance. While the Sanctuary of Truth is quite magnificent - it isn’t even technically finished! In fact, the project is slated to be completed by 2050.
There may be parts of the temple that are undergoing reconstruction, so you may want to call ahead to find out which parts are open to the public. The Sanctuary of Truth is also a major attraction, so planning ahead might be best. It does cost more to enter than many other museums and historic sites, so it might not be the best choice if you are traveling on a budget. The tours are in multiple languages to make sure that all visitors are informed and educated.

There are constantly activities being held at the Sanctuary of Truth, including martial arts shows, plays, sword fighting, and more.
