Temples in Pattaya

Pattaya is best known for its beaches and lively atmosphere, but beyond that you’ll also find temples and shrines that reveal a more cultural and spiritual side of the city. Scratch the surface of Pattaya and move away from the beach and all the noise, and you'll find temples and shrines that show a more cultural/spiritual side of Thailand. There are more than a few notable temples in Pattaya and the surrounding areas, one of which is the Sanctuary of Truth. Although not a temple in the traditional sense, it holds a spiritual significance that has made it one of Thailand's foremost cultural attractions.

Another temple worthy of consideration for any trip to Pattaya is Wat Chai Mongkhon. This temple possesses a serene atmosphere and offers opportunities to feed turtles in the surrounding waters. A truly magical experience. One more temple that is worth visiting is Wat Phra Yai. This impressive temple is an oasis of calm and offers stunning views of the surrounding area from an enviable vantage point.

As with all Buddhist temples, a strict code of behavior must be adhered to, and clothing must be appropriate.
