If you’ve never been to Bangkok, you may be surprised at just how big it is! There are plenty of neighbourhoods across the city which have their own cultural points of interest and sights for you to see. Silom, for example, is one of many popular Bangkok hotspots worth taking a look at when you’re visiting. Our Centre Point Hotel in Silom is one of the most popular accommodation options for travelers seeking a hotel near the historical downtown.
Getting to Silom can be a little tricky depending on the way you choose to travel. Here’s a full guide on how to make your way from either of the airports out to the hotel.
Getting to Centre Point Hotel Silom From the Airports
If you’re relying on public transport when you get to Bangkok, great news – the BTS and other public transit systems are straightforward to navigate. Of course, the exact links you take to reach Silom will depend on where you land! You will likely arrive via either Suvarnabhumi Airport or Don Muang Airport, so here’s a quick guide on what you’ll need to do to make your way out here.
Travelling from Suvarnabhumi Airport
If you’re landing at Suvarnabhumi, you’ll need to head straight for the airport rail link on the lowermost floor of the airport. That will take you to the terminal station at Phaya Thai, where you can switch to the skytrain, also known as the BTS, firstly heading to Siam station, changing to the Silom line, and then finally getting off at Saphan Thaksin, which is not far from the Centre Point Hotel in Silom – only 40 metres or 2 minutes walk. You’ll be able to find your way on foot very quickly from there, along Charoenkrung Road slightly.
Travelling from Don Muang
If you’re travelling from Don Muang, expect a slightly shorter journey. From this airport, there is no rail link, so you can take the A1 bus out to Mochit on the BTS directly. Once again, you’ll need to get off the BTS at Saphan Taksin, which is just a short walk away.
Reaching Us Via Road
Prefer to get to us via the expressway? No problem. However, do be aware that specific fees and tolls will apply to you en route. For example, general taxi fees reach 600-700 THB from either airport. It’s worth budgeting for your travel here regardless of the direction you may be coming from.
If you are taking to the expressways on your own, toll rates will vary depending on the direction you are coming from. If you’d prefer to take a private van to Centre Point Hotel Silom, no problem – but be prepared to budget for around 1650 BHT.
