Siam Paragon Discount Card
Not many tourists know about the amazing discount card that can be used at Siam Paragon. Siam Paragon is one of Bangkok’s most prized shopping malls since there are so many trendy stores.
The card you’ll want to get is the ‘M card,’ which is also referred to as the ‘expatriate card’ since many expats have it. This loyalty card allows you to take advantage of the specialty prices at the store and allows you to collect points for each purchase. Think of it like the rewards card you have with your local grocery store.
Another fun fact about the M card is that you can use it at other malls besides Siam Paragon. The M card is also accepted at other stores at Emporium and The Mall. Thus, you can shop at a variety of department stores, accumulate points, and save lots on Christmas and New Year’s gifts.
Central Group’s 1 Card
Central Group has a significant history in Bangkok since they are known for opening the first department store in Bangkok. Their first location was Chinatown and today they own several of the large shopping malls. The Central Group company headquarters are located right next to their flagship store, Central Chidlom in the Chidlom district.
They started their own exclusive royalty card called ‘The 1 card.’ This card allows shoppers to save 5% on non-discounted items at select stores such as the Central Department Store, Robinson Department Store, ZEN, B2S, SuperSports, HomeWorks, Tops and PowerBuy. These local brand names might sound foreign to you, but you’ll find that they have the same quality of goods you’ll see in the department stores in your home city. This is one of the many reasons to shop while you’re in Bangkok. You might find something that you like significantly discounted with a different brand name.
CentralWorld Shopping Experience
While you’re in the Chidlom shopping district, you might as well check out CentralWorld, another of Central’s stores. Known for being one of the largest malls in Bangkok and for holding one of the biggest New Year’s Eve parties, CentralWorld also offers a splendid shopping experience. You’ll find the same stores but some of the largest store spaces in the world. For instance, the largest H&M store in Southeast Asia is located in CentralWorld, but it’s also the third largest H&M store after New York City and Las Vegas.
Another neat thing about CentralWorld is that there are other things to do other than shopping. You can visit the two unique Hindu shrines or you can watch a local movie (some have English subtitles provided) or an English movie.
